Brainspotting allows us to access healing that is beyond words.
Sometimes we understand why we feel the way we do, but that understanding doesn't create lasting change. You may have talked about your experiences, gained insight, and learned coping skills, yet still find yourself stuck in the same emotional patterns.
Brainspotting is a focused, brain-body therapy that helps access and process experiences that may be stored deeper in the nervous system. It can be particularly helpful when traditional talk therapy feels like it's only reaching part of the problem.
Brainspotting is based on the idea that where you look affects how you feel. During a Brainspotting session, we use your visual field to identify points that correspond with emotional activation in the brain and body. By maintaining focus on these "brainspots," your nervous system is able to access, process, and integrate experiences that may be contributing to current symptoms or patterns.
Brainspotting may help with:
-
Trauma and PTSD
-
Anxiety and chronic stress
-
Attachment wounds
-
Childhood and developmental trauma
-
Relationship difficulties
-
Emotional overwhelm
-
Low self-worth and shame
-
Persistent emotional patterns that feel difficult to change
-
Performance anxiety and blocks
-
Feeling disconnected from yourself, your body, or your emotions
